Privacy Policy

Attesta Translation ("Attesta", "we", "us") translates personal documents such as passports, civil records and bank statements. We know that is sensitive. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, who else sees it, and when we delete it.
What we collect
- Documents you send us by email or WhatsApp, and the personal information they contain.
- Contact and order details: your name, email address, WhatsApp number if you message us there, the document type, language, page count, turnaround and what you paid.
- Messages you send us.
- Basic technical data when you visit our website, such as your IP address and browser type, which our hosting provider records in server logs.
Our website does not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. It stores one setting in your browser, your language choice (English or Portuguese), and it never leaves your device. Documents you add to the price calculator on our site are not uploaded. They stay in your browser until you leave the page.
How we use it
- To prepare your translation and certificate and to deliver them to you.
- To confirm your order, quote prices, take payment and answer questions.
- To keep records we need for our business, taxes and legal obligations.
- To keep the website secure.
We do not sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use your documents to train or improve any product.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of providers to run the service. They handle your information only to provide their service to us:
- Google Workspace (email and file storage) for the email you send us and files we store while working on your order.
- WhatsApp (Meta) if you choose to message us there. WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted in transit.
- Vercel hosts our website, and Google Fonts loads the typefaces on it. Both can see your IP address when your browser loads the page.
- A payment provider processes payments. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Any translator or reviewer who works on your order, who must keep your documents confidential.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to protect someone's safety. Your translation and certificate go to you. We send them to anyone else only if you ask us to.
How long we keep it
- Your original documents and our working files (scans, drafts, the finished translation package, and the email and WhatsApp messages that contain them) are deleted within 30 days after we deliver your order. If we cannot start or finish an order, we delete the documents within 30 days after we close it.
- Order records without document images (your name, email, order date, document type, page count, amount paid and the certificate details) are kept for up to 3 years for accounting, tax and dispute purposes.
- You can ask us to delete your documents sooner. Write to us and we will do so. Note that we may need to keep a limited record of the order.
- Deleting a file on our side does not delete copies you or others hold.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards: access limited to people working on your order, account sign-in protections on our email and file storage, and encrypted connections to our website. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure. When you send documents by email, consider whether you prefer WhatsApp, which encrypts messages end to end, and tell us if you need another way to send them. Please do not send documents you do not need us to translate.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. If you live in California or another place with privacy laws that give you these rights, we honor them. Write to hello@attestatranslation.com from the address you used for your order. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act on a request. We do not treat people differently for making a request.
Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children, except where a parent or guardian sends a child's document (such as a birth certificate) for translation on the child's behalf.
Where information is stored
We are based in California, United States, and the providers above may process information in the United States and other countries.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we handle documents you have already sent us, we will tell you.
